You will never win any soul to the right by a compromise with the wrong! It is decision for Christ and His Truth that has the greatest power in the family and the world, too. Spurgeon

?-----------------------------?

The gospel can’t be understood by human logic. Don’t bother trying to understand the gospel before you believe on Christ.  Just believe Christ.  Nowhere in scripture are we told to understand the gospel.  The only thing we are commanded to do is believe Christ.  “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” (Acts 16:31).  Pastor Frank Tate

1 Corinthians 11:16: But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

There have been some men God has made to stand alone for the sake of the gospel in very dark ages. However, usually, any man who goes against the unanimous message, practice and counsel of the churches of God is setting himself apart as a contentious man.

“The Firstborn Among Many Brethren”

Romans 8:29

God’s great design in predestination is the glory and honor of his dear Son as our Mediator and Savior. ? “That he might be the firstborn among many brethren!” In predestination, as in all other things, Christ has the pre-eminence. He is the Firstborn Son in the family of God.

The firstborn is the first to be born. Christ is the firstborn both as God and as man. He is God, the eternal Son, eternally begotten of the Father. And he is the Man of Redemption, brought forth by the divine decree in the covenant of grace (Proverbs 8:22-26, 30). The firstborn son is the one in whom the whole family is dedicated to God (Exodus 13:2). The firstborn son is the head of the family after the father (Deuteronomy 21:17). The firstborn son holds and manages all the property of the family in the name of the father. It is “the right of the firstborn.” (See Hebrews 6:20). It is in the firstborn son that the name and family of the dead is raised up and lives (Deuteronomy 25:5-6).

The Scriptures, when speaking of “the firstborn that openeth the womb,” were prophetic of the virgin birth of our Savior. None but the Lord Jesus ever opened the womb in birth. In every other instance, the womb is opened at the time of conception, not at the time of birth. Our blessed Savior, “the Firstborn,” was conceived in Mary’s virgin womb by the overshadowing power of God the Holy Ghost. He opened Mary’s virgin womb when he came forth from it to accomplish our redemption. Thus, throughout the Levitical dispensation, the firstborn of man and beast directed the eye of faith to him whom the triune God appointed to have everlasting preeminence as “the Firstborn.” In all things it is, was, and forever shall be the will of the eternal God that Christ have preeminence as the God-man, our Mediator and Redeemer. Our all-glorious Christ shall be “the Firstborn among many brethren.” When they are all gathered into heaven, God’s saints shall be a vast multitude that no man can number (Revelation 5:11; 7:9).

That is predestination. ? God has determined from eternity to save a great multitude of sinners for the glory of Christ. Let us never cease to be amazed at God’s grace toward us. It is amazing that he should save any, more amazing that he should save many, and infinitely amazing that you and I should be numbered among that many! Pastor Don Fortner

A WARNING FROM CHRIST

Matthew 7: 15: Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16: Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17: Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18: A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19: Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20: Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Christ is saying the believer will discern true preachers from false preachers one way, by the gospel they preach and the followers they produce. (Jer 23:16) “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” (Is 8: 20)

The preacher saved by the grace of God is sent of Christ to preach Christ, giving all the glory to God, and none to man. The false preacher preaches man, giving glory to man instead of God. Believers discern good fruit from evil by who gets the glory in the message being preached.  If a man preaches the word of God then God receives the glory.  If he preaches man’s word then man gets the glory. (Rom 11: 6)

Also, Christ says that preachers can only preach what their heart dictates—“A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.” The preacher with a corrupt heart cannot declare Jesus Christ is Lord by preaching salvation is of the Lord in spirit and in truth.  But the preacher speaking by the Spirit of God cannot call his Savior accursed by preaching universal atonement, free will, works religion. (1 Cor 12:3-6) Nor can the good fruit of true sanctified children of God be produced except Christ bless the message and that is only in those who preach him by his grace.

Lastly, Christ assures his people that every evil tree shall be cut down. (Jer 14: 14-16) It is because of false preachers preaching lies that God has given men over so that our rulers are legalizing sin, calling it a civil right, and the people in great delusion are saying, “Amen.” I warn you of these things because this world is full of man-exalting, flesh-pleasing preachers. Paul said, “if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.” (Gal 1: 10)  The Master says, “Beware of false prophets!”  Christ is not being judgmental, neither am I, we are warning you for the good of your soul. Bless God, by his grace, his sheep shall know the true from the false and shall never be deceived, “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.”
