Abide in Christ and Live
Joshua 20:6
The cities of refuge picture the Lord Jesus Christ in whom the believer has eternal salvation. Those who stayed in the city of refuge eventually got to return to the city from which they fled. The redeemed whom God has chosen and redeemed originally fled from God's presence. Those who are called by his grace abide in Christ (Hebrews 3:14). And one day soon, when we are found perfect in Christ we shall be accepted into our heavenly city to live in the presence of our God forever. Oh, enter, abide in Christ and live!
