Heart: When scripture speaks of the heart of a believer it does not refer to the organ in our chest. The heart of a believer is the new spirit created in a sinner by God the Holy Spirit (Ezekiel 11: 19; 36:26.) Other words for it are: a new creature (2 Cor 5: 17; Gal 6: 15); the new man (Eph 4: 24; Col 3: 10); the inner man (Eph 3: 16). It is in the heart that has been made by God that believer's worship Christ in spirit and in truth. The heart which God the Holy Spirit forms in a person is "the mind of Christ" or as the Lord says, "my spirit within you" (Eze 36: 27; I Cor 2: 16.)
